As a member of the University?s Web Communications team, the Web Communications Specialist?s primary role will be to assist in the creation of dynamic and engaging content for the University?s website and social media channels. Working under the direction of the Director of Web Communications, the Web Communications Specialist will develop relationships with academic and administrative offices across campus, providing both editorial and technical support for department and administrative websites while identifying opportunities for the University to communicate its messages and connect with its key audiences through the complete range of web and social media channels.Not only will the Web Communications Specialist oversee the daily operation of the University?s social media properties, including directing and educating others on campus in the use of social media to represent Washington and Lee, but he/she will also maintain a social media/web content calendar and devise systems to evaluate and report on the effectiveness of all electronic communications in addressing the needs of the University?s various audiences. The Web Communications Specialist will also provide general support for websites maintained in the Ingeniux Content Management System and WordPress blogging platform, providing training and helping offices across campus to develop successful content strategies to enhance their online user experience.
